WESTERN STORY usually had a Christmas-themed issue each year. Here's the one from 1941. William Colt MacDonald is probably the biggest name in this issue, along with S. Omar Barker and George Cory Franklin. That's a nice cover, though.

Each year, at Christmas, I get out one of my holiday themed pulps and read the stories. A great way to get into the Holiday spirit. About time I started looking through my magazines for this year's issue.
We need a collection of these holiday stories. Great cover.

I *really* like the Street & Smith WESTERN STORIES from this era. Not only excellent fiction but the magazines just *look* and feel so fantastic.
Richard, there are a couple collections that are available from amazon.com. HARD-BOILED CHRISTMAS STORIES edited by John Wooley and THE BIG BOOK OF CHRISTMAS MYSTERIES edited by Otto Penzler.
Curt, I agree about WESTERN STORY. There's plenty of good stuff in the issues from the Twenties and early Thirties, but I think it's actually a better magazine overall once the era of Frederick Faust's domination is over. John Burr was a good editor, but you don't hear much about him these days.
