As some of you know, today is my birthday, and as usual when people asked me what I wanted, I said, "Books!" This has been my answer for more years than I like to think about. So, since many of you are book people, too, here are the ones I got as presents this year:
And as Livia said when I was sitting there looking through them, "Isn't it a shame you don't have time to read them?" Yes. Yes, it is. And one way or another, that's going to change.

It's always a good birthday when you receive a pulp for a present! I've often been criticized for buying too many books, many more than I'll ever be able to read.
But I've always believed that it is far better to buy too many books, to have many more than you can ever read, than to be like most people and have too few books or even no books at all.
So which is worse, to have too many books? Or to have too few books? I think we all know the answer.
After Reading the Zanthar book by Williams I am avoiding him like the plague. These look pretty cool, though. Happy birthday!
Happy Birthday, Mr. Reasoner!
You can't go wrong with books!
Great line of Livia's! :) And Happy Birthday, James.
Happy Birthday and enjoy the books.
So whataya want for Father's Day, James?

I would say "Time to read the books I got for my birthday!", but I doubt if that's going to happen. I haven't asked for any other books, so I have no clue what I'm getting next week.
