An all-time classic, and a song that I must have heard a thousand times on KBWD-AM out of Brownwood, Texas, one summer. (The clip's a little goofy, but I'm okay with that.)
I like the long version better, too, but this is the version I heard on the radio all the time. The Doors are my favorite group from the Sixties. I like all their stuff, but my favorites are probably "Light My Fire", "Hello I Love You", "Riders on the Storm", and "L.A. Woman". I had all their LPs and just about wore out the grooves.

Still love it! (But I like the full version with the marathon psycadelic instrumental break better.)
So much of the mid-late '60s music sounded apocalyptic, even when they were singing about love, drugs or stereo equipment.
We agree on this one.
