James, are you one of those night writers? Ellen Recknor wrote at night and slept during the day. I think Bob Randisi does, too. I always sort of envied that schedule because I'm sure everything seems more subdued during the long dark--maybe even the mind?--but if I stay up past ten I nod off, so I have to get my word-hammering done during the day.
I wrote at night for the first few years of being a full-time writer, but once kids came along, that ended. Now when I'm up in the middle of the night it's because I can't sleep for one reason or another. I might try to edit a little during those times, but I don't write anything new.
