This is an early issue of SPICY ADVENTURE STORIES. I'm not good enough with artists to know if this cover is by Parkhurst or Ward, but it's probably one of them. Robert Leslie Bellem, as you'd expect, has two stories in this issue, one under his real name and one as by Ellery Watson Calder. The other authors seem to be actual people, not house-names, although they're all pulpsters who are little known these days, such as Ben Judson, Tom Kane, Ken Cooper, and C.C. Spruce.

I think it's probably Parkhurst, he did the cover for the previous and the next issues, and it's reminiscent of his style, though difficult to tell from the low resolution scan.
A slightly better scan here
Thanks, Sai. I'm going to replace the scan in the post with the one you linked to.
I'm changing my mind about the artist. A closer look and i think it's Ward.
I own this issue and pulled it out. No signature on the cover BUT there is a stylish W, difficult to see to the left of the knife. Going to say that's enough for a good Ward guess.
That's good enough for me. Thanks!
Yep, that’s a Ward. 99.99% positive. If I can find that Ward retrospective that David Saunders put our a few years back — I know it’s around here SOMEwhere— I should be able to confirm.

Saunders book confirms it -- it's by Ward. Thank goodness we cleared that up, eh?

It's always good to know for sure, even about pulp covers. Thanks for checking.
Happy to oblige!
