Sunday Morning Bonus Pulp: New Detective, May 1945
That's a pretty good-looking blonde if you go for dames a little on the slinky side. (I'm sorry. I can't help it.) This issue of NEW DETECTIVE also features plenty of good authors, including Day Keene, Frederick C. Davis, Talmage Powell, and G.T. Fleming-Roberts. There's also a David Crewe story, but I don't know if it's one of the yarns David Goodis wrote under that house-name. Probably not. This looks like a good issue to me, anyway.

This magazine lased for 73 issues from 1941 to 1953. Actually it gets a bit complicated.
New Detective Magazine [1941]
Total Issues: 73+12+90+=175+
New Detective Magazine started in 1941 promising "the NEWest in Crime Fiction, and carried the standard fare of crime stories, with emphasis on police detectives, by some of the most popular authors. It ran for 73 issues and was then, in August 1953, merged with Detective Tales to form Fifteen Detective Stories.
This was originally launched as a new magazine with the August 1953 issue, but with its second issue picked up the volume numbering of New Detective Magazine. However, it only ran under the new title for 12 issues before folding in June 1955.
It was then relaunched in September 1955 as a men's magazine called True Adventures, but is believe to have published no fiction under that title.
There's a little sub-genre of pulp/digest/paperback covers that feature someone, usually a lovely damsel, cringing away from a splintering door as a villain bursts through trying to get at them.
The cover of the September, 1958 issue of Guilty is my favorite of these covers, and you'll have no trouble understanding why...
