Dust Devils in the Forecast

No, I'm not talking about the weather. This is the cover for my novel DUST DEVILS, which will be published soon by Point Blank Press. I think it's pretty snazzy. Al Guthrie did a great job editing the book, and JT Lindroos put together a very attractive package. If you click on the picture, you should be able to read the back cover copy. This is the first book with my name on it in quite a while, and my first real crime novel, and I'm pretty proud of it. I hope some of you will read it and enjoy it.

Of course I'll read it. You had me at "redneck noir."

Congrats, James! The book looks great - we are very proud of our very own JT Lindroos here in Finland!

But what is this about your first crime novel? What does that make TEXAS WIND?

While there's certainly plenty of crime in TEXAS WIND, I guess I was thinking of it as a private eye novel, rather than a crime novel.

Congrats, James. This definetely looks interesting. Great cover, btw. I'm looking forward to reading it. Will you have any copies for sale in Cross Plains this year?

As things stand now, I'm probably not going to be able to make it to Cross Plains this year. If that's how it works out, it'll be the first time in a dozen years that I've missed Howard Days. But if I am there, I'll bring copies of DUST DEVILS with me.

Amazon.com shows this as available now, but with a different cover. When will this be out?

I have had my order for it in with Amazon.com for a while now. Glad to hear that it will be out soon.

I believe the cover on Amazon was just a preliminary one so there would be something on the page for the book. It's either already gone to the printer or will be going very soon, so it shouldn't be much longer before it starts shipping.

The snazzy cover surely is better viewed at full-screen size. And as you say, it has the Reasoner name on it. Have you ever found house-name anonymity dispiriting? (Don't answer if you consider it wouldn't be politic, or just none of anyone's business!)
