Writing Update, 3/27

I took yesterday off from producing new pages, although I spent most of the afternoon editing the current manuscript and doing some research for an upcoming project. Today I had to deal with what I hope will be a minor medical matter (won't really know how minor -- or not -- for a few days yet), but I managed to get 9 pages done.

James, I'm editing, too. For some reason it's always frustrating for me to edit instead of write. I keep feeling the need to put words down instead of reading those I've already put down. My first drafts are usually good to go so I'm just changing a word or punctuation mark here or there or doing continuity mop up while I'm being distracted by the next story percolating between my ears.

I always get these "visions" of the next book while I'm trying to take a nap, and it's frustrating as hell! By productive, I guess.

I hope your minor medical problem is indeed minor. Those suck. I've been dealing with minor medical problems galore, messy ones, but they involve my dogs. And they ain't pretty!

Keep after it, pard, and I hope all is well.

Mean Pete

I don't really enjoy editing my own stuff, but I've been helping Livia go over the WF Library reprints and have found that I like that quite a bit.

Fingers crossed that "minor" really means minor.

Hope the medical matter is vanishingly small.

Hey, I am an up and coming writer, and I know what yo mean about Editing. In the words of Vonnegut, we are all either Bashers or Swoopers.

Keep it up!
