Happy Fourth of July

I plan to celebrate by writing. Have a safe, enjoyable holiday.

I'm glad to see you are taking it easy today, probably by writing only three or four books.

Hope you also take time to enjoy food, family, and freedom.

Enjoy your Fourth, James.

I'm going to celebrate by writing some reference letters for students and rearranging my library.

That's great that you can "celebrate" by writing. It must be nice to have such enjoyable employment.

I plan to celebrate via one of your favorite pasttimes. The Bookmiser used book store near me (in Roswell, GA) is having a 4th of July blowout sale and bringing out a lot of inventory not usually displayed and selling them for next to nothing. I often find a few gems at sales like this. I'm hoping to anyway. And if I'm lucky -- and I often am -- I'll find a Reasoner or a Washburn book (though there are never many of those because most folks, for good reason, hang onto them).

By the way, I've learned how to locate the "gems" thanks to the very thorough education you've given me over the years RE authors and books -- it's much appreciated. Happy 4th, James!

I put in almost a full day's work, although it wasn't as productive a day as I would have liked.

Hope you found some good books, Will.

James, my used bookstore trip last week netted 3 Ed McBain books (KING'S RANSOM; HAIL, HAIL, THE GANG'S ALL HERE!; and DEATH OF A NURSE), 2 Ellery Queen (MURDER WITH A PAST, and DEAD MAN'S TALE), 1 Brett Halliday (THE VIOLENT WORLD OF MICHAEL SHAYNE), 2 Bill Pronzini (LABYRINTH, and THE JADE FIGURINE), 1 Ross MacDonald (THE BLUE HAMMER), and 1 James Michael Ullman (THE NEON HAYSTACK). I plan to search your blog to see if you've commented on any of those books in particular. Thanks for all the great info over the years!
