Clifton Adams Article

There's an excellent article by Bud Elder on the life and career of Clifton Adams to be found here. My fondness for Adams' work continues to grow with everything that I read by him. Many thanks to Lawrence Block for the link.

I read a couple of his westerns and enjoyed them a lot. I found his prose to be lucid, concise, and entertaining.

Thanks for the link James. Another good writer who died too young.

Thanks for the article, James -- great to read an appreciative piece of his work. Clifton Adams and Orrie Hitt are the two top authors among the several you've featured in your own blog (and introduced to me) that I've really come to enjoy. While I'm much more of a fan of Adams' (lamentably few) noirs than his westerns, everything I've read by him thus far has been notable in its quality and power.

And I just added my 54th Orrie Hitt book to my collection...I'm nothing if not obsessive once I lock onto to an author I enjoy. Hitt's work is admittedly more uneven than Adams', but sometimes that's half the fun.

That comment makes my day, Ron. When I see all the Orrie Hitt books that are available now, I take some pride in thinking that I played a part in getting people interested in his work again. And I'll have more Clifton Adams posts coming up in the reasonably near future, too.
