Sure, it was a DALLAS rip-off, with two brothers trying to run their late father's ranch in modern-day Texas and clashing with his beautiful young widow, but look at that cast: Sam Elliott as a mysterious stranger, Cybill Shepherd, never more beautiful, Ken Curtis and Noah Beery Jr. as a couple of crusty old cowpokes . . . It ran one season (1983-84) and ended on a frustrating cliffhanger. But we watched 'em all anyway.
Frankly, the cast alone suggests it was probably more fun than DALLAS...
ReplyDeleteI only vaguely remember this being on and never watched an episode.
ReplyDeleteDon't forget David Soul

Yep, David Soul and Edward Albert played the feuding brothers, as I recall. Of course, David Soul will always be Hutch to me.
ReplyDeleteI remember Soul best as one of those awaiting in HERE COME THE BRIDES, which I was about the right age for in its repeat years just after cancellation. That, and the singer/songwriter of such as "Black Bean Soup"...
ReplyDeleteI never heard of it, but probably wouldn't have watched it anyway.
