It would work perfectly just the way it's written. I have the 2 Bison Books volumes of Howard's westerns but this looks like the definitive set. I actually think about 50% of the westerns by him that survive are not that great... but-- when he was truly on his game-- like in VULTURES and a few others-- ol' Bob could really take you there!

Thanks for the tip... I look forward to reading your intro :)Albie The Goodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10581327547260652201noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7527967.post-62358979805130599232013-10-17T16:58:15.843-05:002013-10-17T16:58:15.843-05:00This looks and sounds a splendid publication any W...This looks and sounds a splendid publication any Western follower would be proud to have on his shelves. I hope it succeeds for its promoters. Sadly the production costs on these small-press, short print-run books put many of them out of reach for potential readers ... especially if they live overseas and today's high price of shipping has to be added. Without insurance, I gather this handsome volume would cost me $83!Chap O'Keefehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04404176810063857291noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7527967.post-80492254728160898182013-10-17T13:32:46.625-05:002013-10-17T13:32:46.625-05:00Good stuff for sure. "The Dead Remember" was published in ARGOSY, I think. "Vulture's Sanctuary" also appeared in ARGOSY. One of the stories appeared in WESTERN ACES, one in STAR WESTERN (after Howard died), "The Vultures of Whapeton" was published in SMASHING NOVELS. Most of the others went unsold in Howard's lifetime and appeared in various small press magazines.James Reasonerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18049917964433932612noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7527967.post-48728002506190834762013-10-17T12:22:17.485-05:002013-10-17T12:22:17.485-05:00Looks terrific! And Gianni is a wonderful artist who did great work on the Solomon Kane compendium! Manfred Arcanehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07044858122100767505noreply@blogger.com
