Sunday Morning Bonus Pulp: Detective Fiction Weekly, April 4. 1936
DETECTIVE FICTION WEEKLY was an early favorite pulp of mine because I came across a number of copies of it, back in the days when finding pulps in used bookstores was pretty rare in this neck of the woods. I never had this issue, but if I had I'm sure I would have enjoyed it. The lead story is by T.T. Flynn, one of my favorite pulp Western authors. I wish somebody would reprint some of his stories from the detective pulps. Other authors in this issue include Cornell Woolrich, Carroll John Daly, and Richard Wormser. Sounds good to me.

Good news James, I've heard that a certain reprint publisher will be putting out a collection of T.T. Flynn's work from the detective pulps. Another major pulp reprint event.
That's great news, Walker. Thanks for letting me know. I look forward to the book.
I thought this was an interesting cover just from the by-lines alone. T.T. Flynn is today completely forgotten (well, present company excluded!) while Cornell Woolrich is today reprinted and lionized as one of the heavy hitters of noir; meanwhile, 20 years after he ruled Black Mask with Hammett and Gardner, poor ol' CJ Daly doesn't even make the cover. Ah, the fickle finger of fate.
Speaking of Daly, there also will be a collection reprinting his Vee Brown series from DIME DETECTIVE. Also we will be seeing The Rambler series by Fred MacIsaac and The Marquis of Broadway by Lawrence, all from DIME DETECTIVE.
Even though I've read all these stories, I'm excited to actually think that they will be finally reprinted in affordable editions.
I've read some of the Vee Brown stories, Walker, and liked them. Glad to hear they're going to be reprinted. The other two series I'm not familiar with, although I've seen MacIsaac's name on many a pulp cover, of course.
