At one time I had all the weird menace pulps: HORROR STORIES, TERROR TALES, DIME MYSTERY, THRILLING MYSTERY, etc. UNCANNY was a Red Circle magazine and stressed the weird menace angle which seldom had anything to do with SF. So it was one of the risqué weird menace pulps with lots of damsels in distress, mainly from senile cretins who often dreamed up outrageous supernatural plots. But most of the stories ended with a logical explanation which explained the supernatural elements.Walker Martinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16089880902426182100noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7527967.post-18278150785445238452013-11-03T11:22:53.266-06:002013-11-03T11:22:53.266-06:00This was a direct competitor to THRILLING WONDER S...This was a direct competitor to THRILLING WONDER STORIES?Rick Robinsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07978136287154214297noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7527967.post-48593731306482776282013-11-03T09:31:38.940-06:002013-11-03T09:31:38.940-06:00Being "tasteful and restrained" takes al...Being "tasteful and restrained" takes all the fun out of it.
